Following factors contribute to a higher risk of developing skin cancer:

• Severe and multiple sunburns during childhood
• Regular visits to the solarium/sunbed
• Cumulative exposure to UV radiation and sun over years
• Fair skin (Type 1,2) - celtic, nordic type (red or blonde hair, pale eyes, pale skin, freckles)
• More than 50 nevi
• Skin cancer in the family (blood relatives)
